[Music]

2
00:00:01,760 --> 00:00:07,520
i have warned you sir your fervent

3
00:00:04,319 --> 00:00:10,559
persistence sorely tries my patience

4
00:00:07,520 --> 00:00:14,080
do not mistake my kind demeanor for

5
00:00:10,559 --> 00:00:16,400
weakness sheed your naked saber at once

6
00:00:14,080 --> 00:00:18,000
before i grab it from your trembling

7
00:00:16,400 --> 00:00:21,600
fingers

8
00:00:18,000 --> 00:00:23,680
your crude weapons of violence are no

9
00:00:21,600 --> 00:00:26,160
match for my enlightened tools of

10
00:00:23,680 --> 00:00:26,160
science

11
00:00:26,320 --> 00:00:29,199
oh

12
00:00:27,760 --> 00:00:31,359
i hope you don't mind me reading to you

13
00:00:29,199 --> 00:00:32,399
like this no no no no

14
00:00:31,359 --> 00:00:34,800
please

15
00:00:32,399 --> 00:00:36,640
continue

16
00:00:34,800 --> 00:00:38,320
your words

17
00:00:36,640 --> 00:00:41,440
have such a

18
00:00:38,320 --> 00:00:43,680
stimulating effect on me yes well

19
00:00:41,440 --> 00:00:43,680
that's

20
00:00:54,559 --> 00:00:57,559
oh

21
00:00:58,900 --> 00:01:03,459
[Music]

22
00:01:03,840 --> 00:01:09,119
what are you doing in my a-loft with my

23
00:01:06,720 --> 00:01:09,119
daughter

24
00:01:09,680 --> 00:01:14,240
i'm

25
00:01:10,640 --> 00:01:19,080
reading reading without your pants

26
00:01:14,240 --> 00:01:19,080
it was an unusually warm day

27
00:01:19,240 --> 00:01:23,000
[Music]

28
00:01:26,799 --> 00:01:30,119
just a minute

29
00:01:34,340 --> 00:01:48,080
[Music]

30
00:01:52,500 --> 00:02:03,190
[Music]

31
00:02:03,680 --> 00:02:08,800
you humiliate me and run off the man i

32
00:02:05,920 --> 00:02:12,399
love how am i supposed to find a husband

33
00:02:08,800 --> 00:02:12,399
if you keep shooting at them

34
00:02:15,000 --> 00:02:18,480
[Music]

35
00:02:17,040 --> 00:02:24,300
come on

36
00:02:18,480 --> 00:02:24,300
[Music]

37
00:02:27,910 --> 00:02:39,519
[Music]

38
00:02:37,599 --> 00:02:41,360
look back and thank me one day

39
00:02:39,519 --> 00:02:43,440
now if i were you amnest i'd just love

40
00:02:41,360 --> 00:02:44,560
to catch that legend spark in my

41
00:02:43,440 --> 00:02:46,720
drusilla

42
00:02:44,560 --> 00:02:51,840
yes sir i'd have him and all that book

43
00:02:46,720 --> 00:02:51,840
money in my family by sundown drop it

44
00:02:52,319 --> 00:02:56,800
i told you to stay off my land rush

45
00:02:54,800 --> 00:02:58,480
well we tried to amos

46
00:02:56,800 --> 00:03:00,080
but you didn't take down that fence like

47
00:02:58,480 --> 00:03:01,680
we asked you to

48
00:03:00,080 --> 00:03:02,959
we don't like it when our cattle don't

49
00:03:01,680 --> 00:03:05,100
run free

50
00:03:02,959 --> 00:03:08,220
i don't like it at all

51
00:03:05,100 --> 00:03:08,220
[Applause]

52
00:03:11,680 --> 00:03:16,400
what's wrong with him

53
00:03:13,280 --> 00:03:18,560
i don't know i didn't hit him that hard

54
00:03:16,400 --> 00:03:20,700
well you hit him hard enough

55
00:03:18,560 --> 00:03:26,620
he's dead

56
00:03:20,700 --> 00:03:26,620
[Music]

57
00:03:37,360 --> 00:03:40,799
i just offered some water i know nothing

58
00:03:39,519 --> 00:03:42,319
of your troubles

59
00:03:40,799 --> 00:03:44,319
i don't think i've ever seen you before

60
00:03:42,319 --> 00:03:46,959
you from these parts max

61
00:03:44,319 --> 00:03:46,959
no senor

62
00:03:55,920 --> 00:04:00,560
you don't want to die do you

63
00:03:58,080 --> 00:04:02,080
senor

64
00:04:00,560 --> 00:04:05,760
you know what'll happen if you tell

65
00:04:02,080 --> 00:04:05,760
anybody what you saw here today

66
00:04:06,879 --> 00:04:09,519
it's just going to be your word against

67
00:04:08,239 --> 00:04:11,120
mine no one's going to believe the word

68
00:04:09,519 --> 00:04:12,959
of a max

69
00:04:11,120 --> 00:04:16,560
probably blame you for it

70
00:04:12,959 --> 00:04:18,560
then i'll personally lynch you luis

71
00:04:16,560 --> 00:04:20,880
you understand

72
00:04:18,560 --> 00:04:20,880
season

73
00:04:22,639 --> 00:04:27,199
get out of here keep on riding west

74
00:04:25,520 --> 00:04:29,759
if i ever see you again i'm not gonna

75
00:04:27,199 --> 00:04:31,520
kill just you but kill two other mixes

76
00:04:29,759 --> 00:04:33,120
too because you didn't do what you said

77
00:04:31,520 --> 00:04:36,320
you were gonna do

78
00:04:33,120 --> 00:04:36,320
i clear luis

79
00:04:37,919 --> 00:04:41,520
you sure about this ah it's not gonna be

80
00:04:40,240 --> 00:04:45,280
a problem

81
00:04:41,520 --> 00:04:46,390
besides two murders are hard to explain

82
00:04:45,280 --> 00:04:49,120
one's easy

83
00:04:46,390 --> 00:04:51,360
[Applause]

84
00:04:49,120 --> 00:04:51,360
eat

85
00:04:53,670 --> 00:04:59,440
[Music]

86
00:04:55,120 --> 00:04:59,440
just as easy as reading it in a book

87
00:05:02,410 --> 00:05:07,440
[Music]

88
00:05:05,440 --> 00:05:10,479
well the water tank is intact but it

89
00:05:07,440 --> 00:05:12,400
will never be as beautiful as it was

90
00:05:10,479 --> 00:05:14,400
oh ramos there's something to be said

91
00:05:12,400 --> 00:05:16,240
for craggy charm

92
00:05:14,400 --> 00:05:19,199
without it half the men on the planet

93
00:05:16,240 --> 00:05:19,199
would sleep alone

94
00:05:19,919 --> 00:05:24,479
it would seem to me

95
00:05:21,520 --> 00:05:27,039
that the chase examples set by nicodemus

96
00:05:24,479 --> 00:05:29,840
legend and your books might be a little

97
00:05:27,039 --> 00:05:29,840
less dangerous

98
00:05:29,919 --> 00:05:34,960
yes

99
00:05:31,440 --> 00:05:36,160
but where's the adventure in that

100
00:05:34,960 --> 00:05:38,160
besides

101
00:05:36,160 --> 00:05:39,919
drusilla's father simply misunderstood

102
00:05:38,160 --> 00:05:41,680
the circumstances

103
00:05:39,919 --> 00:05:44,960
a man without his pants leaves little

104
00:05:41,680 --> 00:05:44,960
room for misunderstanding

105
00:05:47,680 --> 00:05:52,639
ah well

106
00:05:49,600 --> 00:05:55,759
here comes sheriff moses

107
00:05:52,639 --> 00:05:57,039
and he's brought his cage

108
00:05:55,759 --> 00:05:59,120
ramos

109
00:05:57,039 --> 00:06:01,600
have you been naughty

110
00:05:59,120 --> 00:06:01,600
have you

111
00:06:05,039 --> 00:06:10,720
sheriff moats

112
00:06:06,720 --> 00:06:10,720
out serving and protecting are we

113
00:06:12,720 --> 00:06:19,720
all right legend

114
00:06:14,960 --> 00:06:19,720
your hands right where i can see him

115
00:06:20,319 --> 00:06:24,319
what is the meaning of this sheriff

116
00:06:22,720 --> 00:06:26,000
nicodemus legend

117
00:06:24,319 --> 00:06:28,030
you're under arrest for the murder of

118
00:06:26,000 --> 00:06:40,080
amos dern

119
00:06:28,030 --> 00:06:43,080
[Music]

120
00:06:40,080 --> 00:06:43,080

121
00:07:05,940 --> 00:07:09,829
[Music]

122
00:07:12,319 --> 00:07:16,000
who they got in there

123
00:07:14,319 --> 00:07:17,360
folks don't use the cage unless they're

124
00:07:16,000 --> 00:07:20,479
real dangerous

125
00:07:17,360 --> 00:07:23,120
well it's legend

126
00:07:20,479 --> 00:07:23,120
it sure enough

127
00:07:23,610 --> 00:07:26,730
[Music]

128
00:07:26,800 --> 00:07:30,880
what's going on sheriff what do you want

129
00:07:28,080 --> 00:07:33,520
mr legend in for charge is murder

130
00:07:30,880 --> 00:07:36,160
looks like he killed amos dern after

131
00:07:33,520 --> 00:07:39,440
amos caught him bundling with drusilla

132
00:07:36,160 --> 00:07:41,599
mr legend say it ain't so it ain't sup

133
00:07:39,440 --> 00:07:44,160
it isn't so

134
00:07:41,599 --> 00:07:45,840
i didn't kill anybody

135
00:07:44,160 --> 00:07:47,680
all right let's go

136
00:07:45,840 --> 00:07:51,280
there

137
00:07:47,680 --> 00:07:53,840
back off now back off

138
00:07:51,280 --> 00:07:55,919
i know you folks like this fella

139
00:07:53,840 --> 00:07:56,840
just cause he's famous don't get him any

140
00:07:55,919 --> 00:07:59,599
special

141
00:07:56,840 --> 00:08:02,720
attention i got solid evidence he was

142
00:07:59,599 --> 00:08:04,000
out there and up to no good

143
00:08:02,720 --> 00:08:06,080
rich is all right

144
00:08:04,000 --> 00:08:08,479
you can't hang a man for losing his

145
00:08:06,080 --> 00:08:08,479
pants

146
00:08:09,199 --> 00:08:13,360
we found the murder weapon

147
00:08:11,120 --> 00:08:16,639
buried on the premises

148
00:08:13,360 --> 00:08:18,720
i protest i vigorously protest

149
00:08:16,639 --> 00:08:20,879
the bartok electro fulminator is not a

150
00:08:18,720 --> 00:08:22,720
lethal weapon

151
00:08:20,879 --> 00:08:24,879
i figure it might be if it was fired at

152
00:08:22,720 --> 00:08:27,280
somebody with a heart condition like

153
00:08:24,879 --> 00:08:27,280
amos

154
00:08:30,319 --> 00:08:36,240
come on get him inside

155
00:08:33,200 --> 00:08:36,240
alan get

156
00:08:36,360 --> 00:08:43,679
used to it

157
00:08:40,360 --> 00:08:43,679
[Music]

158
00:08:50,640 --> 00:08:54,640
this thing's brought every huckster in

159
00:08:52,560 --> 00:08:57,200
the territory into town

160
00:08:54,640 --> 00:08:59,600
man outside selling nicodemus legend

161
00:08:57,200 --> 00:09:01,839
dolls with a noose around the neck

162
00:08:59,600 --> 00:09:03,600
selling a bunch of them too

163
00:09:01,839 --> 00:09:05,760
folks sure do get sentimental about a

164
00:09:03,600 --> 00:09:08,720
hanging well wouldn't it be nice if they

165
00:09:05,760 --> 00:09:09,519
were the least bit interested in a trial

166
00:09:08,720 --> 00:09:11,040
oh

167
00:09:09,519 --> 00:09:12,800
i heard today that mayor brown is going

168
00:09:11,040 --> 00:09:14,080
to prosecute you himself

169
00:09:12,800 --> 00:09:16,480
prosecute

170
00:09:14,080 --> 00:09:19,040
i thought he was the presiding judge he

171
00:09:16,480 --> 00:09:21,360
is this is the west mr legend we do the

172
00:09:19,040 --> 00:09:23,120
best we can is he planning on being on

173
00:09:21,360 --> 00:09:25,040
the jury too

174
00:09:23,120 --> 00:09:27,760
don't be ridiculous

175
00:09:25,040 --> 00:09:30,160
e.c allen sends his regards his faith in

176
00:09:27,760 --> 00:09:31,440
your innocence and me

177
00:09:30,160 --> 00:09:33,200
faber

178
00:09:31,440 --> 00:09:35,920
i don't really need the head of business

179
00:09:33,200 --> 00:09:37,680
affairs at the moment thanks anyway i'll

180
00:09:35,920 --> 00:09:39,440
have you know that before i discovered

181
00:09:37,680 --> 00:09:41,360
the benefits of my current lifestyle i

182
00:09:39,440 --> 00:09:43,519
was considered a promising criminal

183
00:09:41,360 --> 00:09:46,240
attorney now

184
00:09:43,519 --> 00:09:48,839
i want a real lawyer a good lawyer i

185
00:09:46,240 --> 00:09:52,800
want a lawyer with three names get my

186
00:09:48,839 --> 00:09:54,560
drift oh my darling nicodemus i forgive

187
00:09:52,800 --> 00:09:56,640
you

188
00:09:54,560 --> 00:09:59,519
stop that there's nothing to forgive me

189
00:09:56,640 --> 00:10:01,440
for you saw me leave i never came back

190
00:09:59,519 --> 00:10:02,800
you know that oh

191
00:10:01,440 --> 00:10:05,200
well

192
00:10:02,800 --> 00:10:07,120
of course of course

193
00:10:05,200 --> 00:10:09,839
i take it this vision is drusilla the

194
00:10:07,120 --> 00:10:12,640
late farmer's daughter go on drusilla

195
00:10:09,839 --> 00:10:14,320
tell the sheriff what you told me

196
00:10:12,640 --> 00:10:16,000
well

197
00:10:14,320 --> 00:10:18,320
the man i saw

198
00:10:16,000 --> 00:10:20,480
riding to my farm the day my father was

199
00:10:18,320 --> 00:10:23,040
killed

200
00:10:20,480 --> 00:10:24,800
i just remembered

201
00:10:23,040 --> 00:10:26,720
he was bald

202
00:10:24,800 --> 00:10:28,320
why'd you wait till now to say so

203
00:10:26,720 --> 00:10:30,800
drucilla

204
00:10:28,320 --> 00:10:33,040
uh well she wasn't paying very close

205
00:10:30,800 --> 00:10:34,959
attention but what with memory recall

206
00:10:33,040 --> 00:10:36,000
and hypnotic suggestion

207
00:10:34,959 --> 00:10:37,760
huh

208
00:10:36,000 --> 00:10:39,600
sheriff this man is a potential witness

209
00:10:37,760 --> 00:10:41,360
or even a suspect i insist that you put

210
00:10:39,600 --> 00:10:43,440
out a bulletin with his full description

211
00:10:41,360 --> 00:10:46,000
excuse me but given the pressures of

212
00:10:43,440 --> 00:10:49,279
time the defense team and i have decided

213
00:10:46,000 --> 00:10:52,560
to round up a few people to question all

214
00:10:49,279 --> 00:10:53,279
right everybody please come in

215
00:10:52,560 --> 00:10:55,680
now

216
00:10:53,279 --> 00:10:58,320
you don't seem right

217
00:10:55,680 --> 00:11:01,040
don't give up hope ernest we've just

218
00:10:58,320 --> 00:11:01,040
begun to

219
00:11:05,279 --> 00:11:08,079
i forgive you

220
00:11:06,720 --> 00:11:09,200
stop that

221
00:11:08,079 --> 00:11:10,560
go away

222
00:11:09,200 --> 00:11:12,720
ec wants to make sure that you're

223
00:11:10,560 --> 00:11:15,279
keeping a full written diary it will

224
00:11:12,720 --> 00:11:17,120
make a fortune and we'll be sure to see

225
00:11:15,279 --> 00:11:19,279
that your estate gets every penny you're

226
00:11:17,120 --> 00:11:21,360
due my estate

227
00:11:19,279 --> 00:11:23,200
i don't want an estate and i certainly

228
00:11:21,360 --> 00:11:24,240
don't want my lawyer thinking about an

229
00:11:23,200 --> 00:11:26,320
estate

230
00:11:24,240 --> 00:11:29,200
come my dear we shall spend hours

231
00:11:26,320 --> 00:11:31,839
together rehearsing your testimony oh

232
00:11:29,200 --> 00:11:33,040
favor excuse me pardon neighbor make way

233
00:11:31,839 --> 00:11:36,120
for the lady

234
00:11:33,040 --> 00:11:40,880
stand up pardon me

235
00:11:36,120 --> 00:11:43,360
[Music]

236
00:11:40,880 --> 00:11:45,440
i'm afraid it's infected mr halawa we'll

237
00:11:43,360 --> 00:11:47,760
need to keep an eye on it for a few days

238
00:11:45,440 --> 00:11:49,279
but i'm going to california

239
00:11:47,760 --> 00:11:53,279
i'm sorry but that's just not a good

240
00:11:49,279 --> 00:11:55,279
idea we don't want gangrene to set in

241
00:11:53,279 --> 00:11:59,279
get yourself a room in town for a few

242
00:11:55,279 --> 00:12:01,120
days i want to see it again on friday

243
00:11:59,279 --> 00:12:04,920
wait here i'll send a nurse in to

244
00:12:01,120 --> 00:12:04,920
bandage it up for you

245
00:12:15,680 --> 00:12:18,240
yes

246
00:12:16,639 --> 00:12:19,600
nicodemus was with me that day in the

247
00:12:18,240 --> 00:12:22,959
barn

248
00:12:19,600 --> 00:12:24,720
now drusilla everyone loves mr legend

249
00:12:22,959 --> 00:12:27,760
he's meant a great deal to the property

250
00:12:24,720 --> 00:12:27,760
values in this town

251
00:12:27,839 --> 00:12:33,279
we're here to see justice done

252
00:12:30,720 --> 00:12:35,120
did mr legend court you in an unseemly

253
00:12:33,279 --> 00:12:38,399
manner and were you interrupted by a

254
00:12:35,120 --> 00:12:40,399
justifiably concerned father objection

255
00:12:38,399 --> 00:12:43,279
overruled

256
00:12:40,399 --> 00:12:45,600
mr legend is a gallant gentleman but i

257
00:12:43,279 --> 00:12:47,360
fear few are immune to the overpowering

258
00:12:45,600 --> 00:12:49,600
passions of love

259
00:12:47,360 --> 00:12:52,079
yes

260
00:12:49,600 --> 00:12:54,800
and was it those overpowering passions

261
00:12:52,079 --> 00:12:57,279
that drove him to return to your farm

262
00:12:54,800 --> 00:12:59,360
and kill your father so he might have

263
00:12:57,279 --> 00:13:01,200
your hand in marriage i certainly hope

264
00:12:59,360 --> 00:13:03,200
marriage

265
00:13:01,200 --> 00:13:06,320
no one said the first word about

266
00:13:03,200 --> 00:13:08,240
marriage everyone knows nicodemus legend

267
00:13:06,320 --> 00:13:10,560
would never spark a girl without the

268
00:13:08,240 --> 00:13:12,480
intention of marrying her

269
00:13:10,560 --> 00:13:16,160
that's in the books

270
00:13:12,480 --> 00:13:18,800
i'm not legend i'm pratt ernest pratt

271
00:13:16,160 --> 00:13:20,240
little ernie pratt

272
00:13:18,800 --> 00:13:22,560
i don't think it's in your best interest

273
00:13:20,240 --> 00:13:24,560
to be ernest pratt for the time being

274
00:13:22,560 --> 00:13:26,160
why well it may be possible to convince

275
00:13:24,560 --> 00:13:28,160
a jury that legend would not murder a

276
00:13:26,160 --> 00:13:29,920
man in cold blood but

277
00:13:28,160 --> 00:13:31,040
ernest pratt

278
00:13:29,920 --> 00:13:34,040
ow

279
00:13:31,040 --> 00:13:34,040
god

280
00:13:34,560 --> 00:13:39,839
it's an electric gun that was invented

281
00:13:36,720 --> 00:13:42,000
by professor bartok i've seen him and mr

282
00:13:39,839 --> 00:13:43,839
legend use it lots of times and you

283
00:13:42,000 --> 00:13:46,320
believe on this occasion it was used to

284
00:13:43,839 --> 00:13:47,760
electrocute mr dern

285
00:13:46,320 --> 00:13:49,040
well you better say about that

286
00:13:47,760 --> 00:13:50,320
chamberlain you as the one did the

287
00:13:49,040 --> 00:13:52,480
medical part

288
00:13:50,320 --> 00:13:55,040
well i know that

289
00:13:52,480 --> 00:13:58,240
and i plan to question myself very

290
00:13:55,040 --> 00:14:00,800
carefully on this matter i'm sorry your

291
00:13:58,240 --> 00:14:05,079
honor but you're not a doctor

292
00:14:00,800 --> 00:14:05,079
if i'm not mistaken you're a taxidermist

293
00:14:05,519 --> 00:14:10,800
everybody knows that doc larkin is still

294
00:14:08,800 --> 00:14:12,560
over in lime city with the measles

295
00:14:10,800 --> 00:14:14,560
epidemic

296
00:14:12,560 --> 00:14:16,399
is this some kind of slur against

297
00:14:14,560 --> 00:14:18,720
taxidermy

298
00:14:16,399 --> 00:14:21,199
it's simply that you're not qualified

299
00:14:18,720 --> 00:14:23,600
you're in contempt pay the court clerk

300
00:14:21,199 --> 00:14:26,560
20 to oh now see here

301
00:14:23,600 --> 00:14:26,560
or go to jail

302
00:14:27,199 --> 00:14:31,040
mr mayor

303
00:14:28,800 --> 00:14:33,839
the bartok electropulmonator was not the

304
00:14:31,040 --> 00:14:36,000
cause of any death heart condition or no

305
00:14:33,839 --> 00:14:38,160
and i defy you to present evidence to

306
00:14:36,000 --> 00:14:39,519
the contrary

307
00:14:38,160 --> 00:14:41,839
sam

308
00:14:39,519 --> 00:14:44,240
what do you got to say about this

309
00:14:41,839 --> 00:14:45,440
well amos's clothes had singe marks on

310
00:14:44,240 --> 00:14:47,600
them and there was the same kind of

311
00:14:45,440 --> 00:14:49,360
singe marks i'd seen on other people who

312
00:14:47,600 --> 00:14:51,519
was shot with the professor's electric

313
00:14:49,360 --> 00:14:52,800
gun heck even his beard was still

314
00:14:51,519 --> 00:14:54,240
charged with sparks and he'd been dead

315
00:14:52,800 --> 00:14:56,720
for hours

316
00:14:54,240 --> 00:14:58,480
no there's no doubt in my mind that amos

317
00:14:56,720 --> 00:15:00,130
dern was shot with that thing right

318
00:14:58,480 --> 00:15:09,369
there

319
00:15:00,130 --> 00:15:09,369
[Music]

320
00:15:09,440 --> 00:15:13,680
this is the ultimate weapon

321
00:15:11,760 --> 00:15:16,720
in the arsenal of modern criminology

322
00:15:13,680 --> 00:15:19,360
because each fingerprint is unique

323
00:15:16,720 --> 00:15:21,360
using the technique of professor pujki

324
00:15:19,360 --> 00:15:23,920
at university of breslau i was able to

325
00:15:21,360 --> 00:15:26,480
compare the papillary rigidity professor

326
00:15:23,920 --> 00:15:28,880
suffice to say that you found the prince

327
00:15:26,480 --> 00:15:31,920
of fingers on the handle of the electro

328
00:15:28,880 --> 00:15:34,240
fulminator yes several sheriff moats

329
00:15:31,920 --> 00:15:35,120
other law enforcement officials as well

330
00:15:34,240 --> 00:15:39,920
as

331
00:15:35,120 --> 00:15:42,880
this one ah and uh to whom does it

332
00:15:39,920 --> 00:15:46,720
belong i have no idea

333
00:15:42,880 --> 00:15:50,639
hmm is it possible then that this is the

334
00:15:46,720 --> 00:15:55,000
fingerprint of the true murderer of amos

335
00:15:50,639 --> 00:15:55,000
dern yes it is quite possible

336
00:15:56,800 --> 00:16:01,519
professor i don't have a clue to what

337
00:15:59,360 --> 00:16:02,560
you're talking about but i do have a

338
00:16:01,519 --> 00:16:05,680
question

339
00:16:02,560 --> 00:16:09,279
did you find the printed finger of

340
00:16:05,680 --> 00:16:10,639
nicodemus legend on that fulminator well

341
00:16:09,279 --> 00:16:13,360
of course i did

342
00:16:10,639 --> 00:16:17,519
mr legend uses it regularly but you see

343
00:16:13,360 --> 00:16:17,519
thank you professor no further questions

344
00:16:18,320 --> 00:16:22,079
i hereby give myself

345
00:16:20,399 --> 00:16:23,440
permission to treat the next witness is

346
00:16:22,079 --> 00:16:26,160
hostile

347
00:16:23,440 --> 00:16:28,000
skeeter this is a court of law if you

348
00:16:26,160 --> 00:16:29,360
don't answer my questions i'll hold you

349
00:16:28,000 --> 00:16:30,880
in contempt

350
00:16:29,360 --> 00:16:32,800
contempt what's that mean it means

351
00:16:30,880 --> 00:16:35,120
you'll be cleaning up horse droppings

352
00:16:32,800 --> 00:16:36,560
for another month and no tips oh

353
00:16:35,120 --> 00:16:37,839
contempt

354
00:16:36,560 --> 00:16:39,920
ask away

355
00:16:37,839 --> 00:16:41,920
now you were there when the defendant's

356
00:16:39,920 --> 00:16:44,160
room was searched weren't you i opened

357
00:16:41,920 --> 00:16:46,320
the door for the sheriff uh-huh and you

358
00:16:44,160 --> 00:16:50,959
found some of his personal writings in

359
00:16:46,320 --> 00:16:52,160
his personal notepad didn't you

360
00:16:50,959 --> 00:16:54,800
yes

361
00:16:52,160 --> 00:16:54,800
is this it

362
00:16:55,279 --> 00:17:00,079
read it to the jury

363
00:16:57,460 --> 00:17:01,839
[Applause]

364
00:17:00,079 --> 00:17:03,600
the killer was so popular in his town

365
00:17:01,839 --> 00:17:05,679
read it nights

366
00:17:03,600 --> 00:17:07,839
he knew that no one would ever convict

367
00:17:05,679 --> 00:17:09,439
him of the murder but he was determined

368
00:17:07,839 --> 00:17:12,720
to have the love of the sweet young

369
00:17:09,439 --> 00:17:15,120
thing so he killed her shotgun toting

370
00:17:12,720 --> 00:17:18,799
father to better give him an opportunity

371
00:17:15,120 --> 00:17:21,039
at winning her hand i didn't write that

372
00:17:18,799 --> 00:17:24,000
it has a split infinitive

373
00:17:21,039 --> 00:17:25,919
it's obviously a forgery

374
00:17:24,000 --> 00:17:28,480
now skeeter

375
00:17:25,919 --> 00:17:30,880
mr legend often uses his real life as

376
00:17:28,480 --> 00:17:33,840
material for his books doesn't he

377
00:17:30,880 --> 00:17:33,840
i wouldn't know

378
00:17:34,000 --> 00:17:37,840
gentleman of the jury

379
00:17:36,240 --> 00:17:40,160
i submit

380
00:17:37,840 --> 00:17:42,000
that this manuscript of the latest

381
00:17:40,160 --> 00:17:43,360
legend novel

382
00:17:42,000 --> 00:17:47,400
is indeed

383
00:17:43,360 --> 00:17:47,400
a confession of guilt

384
00:17:48,350 --> 00:18:03,630
[Music]

385
00:18:05,039 --> 00:18:10,400
government of the jury have you reached

386
00:18:06,720 --> 00:18:13,800
the verdict yes your honor

387
00:18:10,400 --> 00:18:16,720
mr legend please rise

388
00:18:13,800 --> 00:18:19,679
[Music]

389
00:18:16,720 --> 00:18:19,679
go ahead smokey

390
00:18:19,840 --> 00:18:27,240
we're real sorry mr legend

391
00:18:23,120 --> 00:18:27,240
but we think you've done it

392
00:18:29,150 --> 00:18:35,120
[Music]

393
00:18:31,440 --> 00:18:36,960
it is the sense of this court

394
00:18:35,120 --> 00:18:39,600
that you should be hanged by the neck

395
00:18:36,960 --> 00:18:39,600
until dead

396
00:18:39,760 --> 00:18:44,290
said hanging to take place

397
00:18:42,880 --> 00:18:58,509
tomorrow

398
00:18:44,290 --> 00:18:58,509
[Music]

399
00:19:03,730 --> 00:19:10,960
[Music]

400
00:19:09,280 --> 00:19:14,000
is there anything in particular you'd

401
00:19:10,960 --> 00:19:15,919
like your headstone to say

402
00:19:14,000 --> 00:19:18,480
how about

403
00:19:15,919 --> 00:19:20,240
vacancy

404
00:19:18,480 --> 00:19:23,120
mr legend i hope you don't hold any

405
00:19:20,240 --> 00:19:25,120
animosity toward me or the town

406
00:19:23,120 --> 00:19:27,679
you had your trial the verdict came in

407
00:19:25,120 --> 00:19:30,160
fair and square

408
00:19:27,679 --> 00:19:32,640
fair and square

409
00:19:30,160 --> 00:19:32,640
let's see

410
00:19:33,200 --> 00:19:36,799
the evidence was trumped up the

411
00:19:34,960 --> 00:19:40,000
prosecutor was the judge

412
00:19:36,799 --> 00:19:41,840
my defense was criminally incompetent

413
00:19:40,000 --> 00:19:44,400
fair and square

414
00:19:41,840 --> 00:19:46,480
yes i suppose i'd call it that sure fair

415
00:19:44,400 --> 00:19:48,240
and square sounds like it yeah

416
00:19:46,480 --> 00:19:51,039
that's the way things usually go in the

417
00:19:48,240 --> 00:19:54,000
west we're doing the best we can

418
00:19:51,039 --> 00:19:56,160
oh yes the best we can

419
00:19:54,000 --> 00:19:57,600
well it wasn't quite good enough was it

420
00:19:56,160 --> 00:20:00,080
chamberlain

421
00:19:57,600 --> 00:20:02,559
i assure you your memory will always be

422
00:20:00,080 --> 00:20:04,720
sacred here i put a deposit down on your

423
00:20:02,559 --> 00:20:06,559
rooms at the silver king to maintain

424
00:20:04,720 --> 00:20:09,200
them exactly as they are on your day of

425
00:20:06,559 --> 00:20:09,200
execution

426
00:20:09,760 --> 00:20:15,840
we're already running tours uh 10

427
00:20:13,440 --> 00:20:18,840
will be given to memorial fund in your

428
00:20:15,840 --> 00:20:18,840
name

429
00:20:20,310 --> 00:20:23,500
[Music]

430
00:20:27,520 --> 00:20:33,640
hey you it's a harmonica

431
00:20:30,159 --> 00:20:33,640
stuff it

432
00:20:36,640 --> 00:20:40,559
dinner time

433
00:20:38,000 --> 00:20:42,210
it's only four o'clock

434
00:20:40,559 --> 00:20:44,880
hold it right there

435
00:20:42,210 --> 00:20:47,679
[Applause]

436
00:20:44,880 --> 00:20:50,400
let's see what you got here

437
00:20:47,679 --> 00:20:53,200
mr legend's metabolism is under stress

438
00:20:50,400 --> 00:20:55,120
he needs a greater caloric intake

439
00:20:53,200 --> 00:20:56,960
you know if you immigrants are gonna

440
00:20:55,120 --> 00:21:00,559
live in this country i don't know why

441
00:20:56,960 --> 00:21:00,559
you can't learn to speak the language

442
00:21:01,440 --> 00:21:05,520
a token of remembrance from the girls of

443
00:21:03,440 --> 00:21:09,360
the buffalo head saloon where

444
00:21:05,520 --> 00:21:09,360
mr legend will be sorely missed

445
00:21:10,720 --> 00:21:13,960
come on

446
00:21:20,640 --> 00:21:27,320
not hungry oh wait until you see what

447
00:21:23,360 --> 00:21:27,320
we've prepared for you

448
00:21:34,880 --> 00:21:37,919
would you like some coffee

449
00:21:41,200 --> 00:21:46,640
there's an oxygen tank inside

450
00:21:43,600 --> 00:21:47,919
you activate it this way you see

451
00:21:46,640 --> 00:21:50,880
would you like

452
00:21:47,919 --> 00:21:50,880
some candies

453
00:21:54,640 --> 00:21:59,280
combustion chamber

454
00:21:56,240 --> 00:22:01,440
you put it underneath and then right

455
00:21:59,280 --> 00:22:03,120
here

456
00:22:01,440 --> 00:22:05,039
is the igniter

457
00:22:03,120 --> 00:22:08,000
you'd get a flame and you'll be able to

458
00:22:05,039 --> 00:22:08,000
cut through the bars

459
00:22:10,240 --> 00:22:16,880
oh don't forget put on your mask

460
00:22:14,000 --> 00:22:16,880
bon appetit

461
00:22:16,960 --> 00:22:21,120
yes chef

462
00:22:18,640 --> 00:22:21,120
ready

463
00:22:22,960 --> 00:22:26,200
good luck

464
00:22:29,280 --> 00:22:32,080
sheriff can i talk to you for a second

465
00:22:31,039 --> 00:22:36,240
yeah

466
00:22:32,080 --> 00:22:36,240
could you give me any career advice

467
00:22:36,400 --> 00:22:45,940
career advice

468
00:22:38,420 --> 00:22:48,480
[Music]

469
00:22:45,940 --> 00:22:50,000
[Applause]

470
00:22:48,480 --> 00:22:53,099
so

471
00:22:50,000 --> 00:22:53,099
[Music]

472
00:22:54,650 --> 00:22:58,640
[Applause]

473
00:22:56,960 --> 00:23:00,559
well i'm uh thinking about becoming a

474
00:22:58,640 --> 00:23:02,480
law man like yourself

475
00:23:00,559 --> 00:23:06,039
is there a school where you go to learn

476
00:23:02,480 --> 00:23:06,039
that sort of thing

477
00:23:10,140 --> 00:23:16,250
[Music]

478
00:23:20,540 --> 00:23:23,630
[Applause]

479
00:23:25,280 --> 00:23:32,380
legends

480
00:23:27,850 --> 00:23:34,630
[Music]

481
00:23:32,380 --> 00:23:37,739
[Applause]

482
00:23:34,630 --> 00:23:37,739
[Music]

483
00:23:38,320 --> 00:23:41,919
there you man

484
00:23:39,679 --> 00:23:45,720
help me now prisoner's escape

485
00:23:41,919 --> 00:23:45,720
legends on the moon

486
00:23:48,140 --> 00:23:52,159
[Music]

487
00:23:50,000 --> 00:23:53,600
i hereby deputize all you able-bodied

488
00:23:52,159 --> 00:23:56,600
men to join this posse and bring this

489
00:23:53,600 --> 00:23:56,600
prisoner

490
00:24:12,810 --> 00:24:15,880
[Music]

491
00:24:16,720 --> 00:24:22,700
i got it

492
00:24:19,580 --> 00:24:22,700
[Music]

493
00:24:37,600 --> 00:24:40,760
and bartok

494
00:24:48,960 --> 00:24:54,360
dummies

495
00:24:50,080 --> 00:24:54,360
i'm surrounded by them

496
00:24:55,680 --> 00:24:58,809
[Music]

497
00:25:03,440 --> 00:25:07,279
what do you expect to find here janos

498
00:25:05,360 --> 00:25:09,120
well there's an old gypsy saying if you

499
00:25:07,279 --> 00:25:10,720
can't find the bald man you look for the

500
00:25:09,120 --> 00:25:13,520
bald man's horse

501
00:25:10,720 --> 00:25:16,799
ah yes that's what i love about gypsies

502
00:25:13,520 --> 00:25:18,559
a different saying for every occasion

503
00:25:16,799 --> 00:25:20,240
awful lot of hoof prints on this road

504
00:25:18,559 --> 00:25:21,679
yes but there's only one that would lead

505
00:25:20,240 --> 00:25:23,760
from this point to the scene of the

506
00:25:21,679 --> 00:25:25,760
murder but we don't know if the bald man

507
00:25:23,760 --> 00:25:28,240
went to the farm

508
00:25:25,760 --> 00:25:30,720
i have a hunch that he did no the old

509
00:25:28,240 --> 00:25:32,720
clairvoyance acting up again is it well

510
00:25:30,720 --> 00:25:35,200
what with all the publicity why hasn't

511
00:25:32,720 --> 00:25:36,720
the bald man come forward

512
00:25:35,200 --> 00:25:38,480
why

513
00:25:36,720 --> 00:25:39,919
maybe he's scared or maybe he committed

514
00:25:38,480 --> 00:25:43,360
the murder

515
00:25:39,919 --> 00:25:46,000
unlikely ramos very unlikely

516
00:25:43,360 --> 00:25:47,760
to be framed as well as i've been framed

517
00:25:46,000 --> 00:25:49,600
the killer would have to be local much

518
00:25:47,760 --> 00:25:52,720
as he was in legend

519
00:25:49,600 --> 00:25:54,080
meets blind justice

520
00:25:52,720 --> 00:25:56,559
my god

521
00:25:54,080 --> 00:25:59,200
life imitates art

522
00:25:56,559 --> 00:26:01,679
except in the books i wasn't hung

523
00:25:59,200 --> 00:26:01,679
professor

524
00:26:03,520 --> 00:26:07,840
oh yes

525
00:26:05,120 --> 00:26:09,679
that could be it let me see my notes

526
00:26:07,840 --> 00:26:11,760
now what was it that drusilla said

527
00:26:09,679 --> 00:26:14,400
during hypnosis

528
00:26:11,760 --> 00:26:16,320
he was riding an old baymare

529
00:26:14,400 --> 00:26:17,760
she was walking slowly

530
00:26:16,320 --> 00:26:20,400
maybe a little

531
00:26:17,760 --> 00:26:22,720
lame lame that's it

532
00:26:20,400 --> 00:26:24,720
are these not the prince of a corrective

533
00:26:22,720 --> 00:26:26,320
shoe yes professor it's a bar shoe a

534
00:26:24,720 --> 00:26:28,240
blacksmith would make it to assist the

535
00:26:26,320 --> 00:26:30,159
lame horse very well i want you to get

536
00:26:28,240 --> 00:26:31,840
the bartok tri-dimensional recorder

537
00:26:30,159 --> 00:26:34,559
camera

538
00:26:31,840 --> 00:26:36,159
if this path leads to the bomb wait wait

539
00:26:34,559 --> 00:26:37,600
wait we can't go up there what if

540
00:26:36,159 --> 00:26:40,320
drusilla is home

541
00:26:37,600 --> 00:26:42,400
no don't worry your lawyers volunteered

542
00:26:40,320 --> 00:26:45,039
to entertain her

543
00:26:42,400 --> 00:26:45,039
he's what

544
00:26:46,080 --> 00:26:50,960
he was here ernest

545
00:26:48,799 --> 00:26:53,120
all we have to do is follow this horse

546
00:26:50,960 --> 00:26:55,200
print wherever it may lead us

547
00:26:53,120 --> 00:26:56,880
maybe we could use kit carson for that

548
00:26:55,200 --> 00:26:59,600
oh not so

549
00:26:56,880 --> 00:27:01,360
no tracking can be fun and simple with a

550
00:26:59,600 --> 00:27:03,919
multiple tri-dimensional recording

551
00:27:01,360 --> 00:27:06,480
camera ramos the photographic print

552
00:27:03,919 --> 00:27:09,679
thank you very much now all we need to

553
00:27:06,480 --> 00:27:12,400
do is to manipulate the wheels so that

554
00:27:09,679 --> 00:27:15,840
the transparent image

555
00:27:12,400 --> 00:27:19,200
superimposes itself upon the print

556
00:27:15,840 --> 00:27:22,640
and then the electrical circuits

557
00:27:19,200 --> 00:27:22,640
senses when it's identical

558
00:27:27,520 --> 00:27:31,760
and voila you see

559
00:27:30,080 --> 00:27:33,360
there now the only thing that we have to

560
00:27:31,760 --> 00:27:34,720
be concerned about is that the terrain

561
00:27:33,360 --> 00:27:35,919
cooperates and then we'll be able to

562
00:27:34,720 --> 00:27:38,000
follow him

563
00:27:35,919 --> 00:27:41,039
well let's just hope he didn't change

564
00:27:38,000 --> 00:27:45,080
horses in mid-stream eh oh no

565
00:27:41,039 --> 00:27:45,080
this doesn't work in a stream

566
00:27:48,720 --> 00:27:52,000
the tracks definitely lead to that

567
00:27:50,240 --> 00:27:55,120
farmhouse over there

568
00:27:52,000 --> 00:27:57,760
cover your face i'll do the talking

569
00:27:55,120 --> 00:27:59,679
is this really necessary

570
00:27:57,760 --> 00:28:04,440
as you said yourself the secrets of a

571
00:27:59,679 --> 00:28:04,440
good disguise are in the minutes details

572
00:28:21,679 --> 00:28:26,320
how do you do sir we don't need any

573
00:28:23,600 --> 00:28:28,159
fortunes told here ah yes well you look

592
00:29:11,760 --> 00:29:16,720

598
00:29:24,559 --> 00:29:28,960
bonnie blue

599
00:29:26,399 --> 00:29:30,159

600
00:29:28,960 --> 00:29:32,159

601
00:29:30,159 --> 00:29:34,240
your adventures fill me with sweet

602
00:29:32,159 --> 00:29:36,080
dreams while i'm chopping weeds and

603
00:29:34,240 --> 00:29:37,520
butchering hogs

604
00:29:36,080 --> 00:29:38,960
i know you couldn't have done such a

605
00:29:37,520 --> 00:29:41,840
thing

606
00:29:38,960 --> 00:29:43,039
there's a 20 reward

607
00:29:41,840 --> 00:29:44,240
there's not enough money in this world

608
00:29:43,039 --> 00:29:45,840
to make me turn my hand against

609
00:29:44,240 --> 00:29:49,640
nicodemus legend

610
00:29:45,840 --> 00:29:49,640
now put it down

611
00:29:55,840 --> 00:29:59,760
why thank you bonnie blue

612
00:29:58,000 --> 00:30:01,679
i'd love to spend the afternoon with you

613
00:29:59,760 --> 00:30:04,720
chatting about me

614
00:30:01,679 --> 00:30:06,159
however the posse's been summoned

615
00:30:04,720 --> 00:30:08,480
we're on the trail of a bald man who

616
00:30:06,159 --> 00:30:10,480
might be able to prove my innocence yes

617
00:30:08,480 --> 00:30:13,919
and we think that he's come this way i'm

618
00:30:10,480 --> 00:30:15,520
sorry we haven't seen anyone i have

619
00:30:13,919 --> 00:30:18,240
a bald man

620
00:30:15,520 --> 00:30:20,399
you were at the creek elijah i told you

621
00:30:18,240 --> 00:30:22,720
to fetch me whenever a stranger no it's

622
00:30:20,399 --> 00:30:25,120
all right elijah that's all right you

623
00:30:22,720 --> 00:30:26,880
should listen to your mother however

624
00:30:25,120 --> 00:30:29,120
did you talk to him

625
00:30:26,880 --> 00:30:31,840
he was hurt something was wrong with his

626
00:30:29,120 --> 00:30:33,679
leg he needed a doctor bad i gave him

627
00:30:31,840 --> 00:30:35,919
some water

628
00:30:33,679 --> 00:30:37,760
how close is the nearest hospital well

629
00:30:35,919 --> 00:30:39,360
you'd have to go into denver for that

630
00:30:37,760 --> 00:30:41,520
there's a hospital just inside the city

631
00:30:39,360 --> 00:30:44,240
limits i told that's where you took them

632
00:30:41,520 --> 00:30:48,159
and i broke my arm

633
00:30:44,240 --> 00:30:48,159
you did good elijah real good

634
00:30:48,399 --> 00:30:53,600
mr legend i cried when i heard they were

635
00:30:50,720 --> 00:30:53,600
gonna hang you

636
00:30:54,080 --> 00:30:58,159
that makes two of us

637
00:30:56,559 --> 00:31:00,320
but you know what the help you just gave

638
00:30:58,159 --> 00:31:02,799
me i might be able to prove i didn't do

639
00:31:00,320 --> 00:31:05,860
it you'll not have to prove it to me mr

640
00:31:02,799 --> 00:31:07,679
legend i know it from the start

641
00:31:05,860 --> 00:31:09,919
[Music]

642
00:31:07,679 --> 00:31:10,960
thanks

643
00:31:09,919 --> 00:31:13,519
professor

644
00:31:10,960 --> 00:31:13,519
the posse

645
00:31:15,120 --> 00:31:20,320
we'll never outrun him in this rig take

646
00:31:17,200 --> 00:31:20,320
my horse mr legend

647
00:31:21,760 --> 00:31:27,600
oh no no thank you i couldn't do that i

648
00:31:24,559 --> 00:31:29,039
insist no i mean i really couldn't

649
00:31:27,600 --> 00:31:31,760
no no no it's really it's a good idea

650
00:31:29,039 --> 00:31:34,080
the only chance will create a diversion

651
00:31:31,760 --> 00:31:38,000
you know how horses feel about me yes

652
00:31:34,080 --> 00:31:38,000
and i know how you feel about hanging

653
00:31:38,080 --> 00:31:47,200
right rubbles the sonic grenades

[Music]

659
00:32:15,360 --> 00:32:20,080
oh you're running in the wrong direction

660
00:32:18,000 --> 00:32:23,559
he's going right straight towards him

661
00:32:20,080 --> 00:32:23,559
that's my nicodemus

662
00:32:37,330 --> 00:32:40,440
[Music]

663
00:32:40,799 --> 00:32:45,440
run right now there's nothing to fear

664
00:32:43,200 --> 00:32:47,600
this is only irritating the horse's dogs

665
00:32:45,440 --> 00:32:49,200
and the occasional war cog but i suggest

666
00:32:47,600 --> 00:32:51,600
you get inside because of the posse

667
00:32:49,200 --> 00:32:51,600
hurry

668
00:32:53,440 --> 00:32:56,840
come come

669
00:32:57,600 --> 00:33:00,159
all right

670
00:33:05,519 --> 00:33:11,219
now

671
00:33:08,160 --> 00:33:11,219
[Music]

672
00:33:11,679 --> 00:33:14,679

00:37:57,119 --> 00:38:04,629
parlor be very kind with her gentlemen

764
00:38:01,510 --> 00:38:04,629
[Music]

765
00:38:11,280 --> 00:38:17,139
denied

766
00:38:13,610 --> 00:38:17,139
[Music]

767
00:38:22,210 --> 00:38:27,630
[Music]

768
00:38:25,200 --> 00:38:36,610
thank you father

769
00:38:27,630 --> 00:38:36,610
[Music]

770
00:38:38,000 --> 00:38:41,760
bald man

771
00:38:39,359 --> 00:38:45,079
bad leg it's got to be him

772
00:38:41,760 --> 00:38:45,079
let's go

773
00:38:50,800 --> 00:38:55,610
[Music]

774
00:38:59,520 --> 00:39:02,720
the bald man with a bad leg we found him

775
00:39:01,359 --> 00:39:06,000
he's in that house

776
00:39:02,720 --> 00:39:07,440
oh you mean louise hollywood

777
00:39:06,000 --> 00:39:08,800
yeah

778
00:39:07,440 --> 00:39:10,720
they told us about him over to the

779
00:39:08,800 --> 00:39:12,640
hospital his doctor said he was doing

780
00:39:10,720 --> 00:39:14,800
day work down to the stable

781
00:39:12,640 --> 00:39:17,440
we just questioned him he said the only

782
00:39:14,800 --> 00:39:18,800
thing he saw was amos dern shoot at you

783
00:39:17,440 --> 00:39:20,560
when you took off

784
00:39:18,800 --> 00:39:21,520
and he just rode away

785
00:39:20,560 --> 00:39:24,400
sheriff

786
00:39:21,520 --> 00:39:26,240
we have scientific evidence that alewa

787
00:39:24,400 --> 00:39:28,640
went to the dern farm and it is quite

788
00:39:26,240 --> 00:39:29,520
possible that he was wounded by the real

789
00:39:28,640 --> 00:39:32,400
killer

790
00:39:29,520 --> 00:39:34,079
no he said it was just an accident and

791
00:39:32,400 --> 00:39:36,640
we don't need any more of your

792
00:39:34,079 --> 00:39:39,359
scientific evidence professor take them

793
00:39:36,640 --> 00:39:40,480
both into custody boys custody hell

794
00:39:39,359 --> 00:39:42,400
sheriff

795
00:39:40,480 --> 00:39:45,520
supposed to hang anyway i say let's just

796
00:39:42,400 --> 00:39:46,960
do it right now and get it over with get

797
00:39:45,520 --> 00:39:49,520
it over with

798
00:39:46,960 --> 00:39:51,520
we're talking about a hanging a very

799
00:39:49,520 --> 00:39:54,480
important moment in a man's life it's

800
00:39:51,520 --> 00:39:56,000
not something you just get over with i

801
00:39:54,480 --> 00:39:57,839
think we should take him back to town

802
00:39:56,000 --> 00:39:59,920
and do it legal

803
00:39:57,839 --> 00:40:01,040
we saw what happened last time you had

804
00:39:59,920 --> 00:40:04,400
him sheriff

805
00:40:01,040 --> 00:40:07,040
oh you're making a mistake here rush yes

806
00:40:04,400 --> 00:40:08,640
a big huge mistake

807
00:40:07,040 --> 00:40:10,640
after all if you do hang me and find out

808
00:40:08,640 --> 00:40:12,240
later it was a mistake there's not much

809
00:40:10,640 --> 00:40:14,079
you can do to rectify the situation

810
00:40:12,240 --> 00:40:17,040
after all we'll be taking him away

811
00:40:14,079 --> 00:40:18,079
problem because i'll be dead yeah

812
00:40:17,040 --> 00:40:19,440
broken

813
00:40:18,079 --> 00:40:21,200
hey get over here

814
00:40:19,440 --> 00:40:22,079
i kick the bucket

815
00:40:21,200 --> 00:40:24,400
to me

816
00:40:22,079 --> 00:40:26,960
shuffle off my mortal coil i'd be

817
00:40:24,400 --> 00:40:28,720
pushing up daisies on boot hill i'd be

818
00:40:26,960 --> 00:40:30,800
an ex prat

819
00:40:28,720 --> 00:40:32,720
senor if you saw anything you must tell

820
00:40:30,800 --> 00:40:34,640
them

821
00:40:32,720 --> 00:40:38,240
i saw nothing

822
00:40:34,640 --> 00:40:41,040
an innocent man is going to die

823
00:40:38,240 --> 00:40:43,200
it's a gringo fight it's not mine has

824
00:40:41,040 --> 00:40:44,400
nothing to do with me if you fear them

825
00:40:43,200 --> 00:40:46,079
it does

826
00:40:44,400 --> 00:40:47,040
if they threaten you into silence it

827
00:40:46,079 --> 00:40:49,200
does

828
00:40:47,040 --> 00:40:50,880
then it is not about them it is about us

829
00:40:49,200 --> 00:40:52,160
and how you and i and all of our people

830
00:40:50,880 --> 00:40:54,560
are going to be treated in this country

831
00:40:52,160 --> 00:40:56,640
by men like those

832
00:40:54,560 --> 00:40:58,640
it is a matter of courage and of honor

833
00:40:56,640 --> 00:41:00,319
senor

834
00:40:58,640 --> 00:41:03,119
you'll kill me

835
00:41:00,319 --> 00:41:05,280
who the gringo

836
00:41:03,119 --> 00:41:07,680
i saw him kill the old farmer

837
00:41:05,280 --> 00:41:10,560
he rides with the posse

838
00:41:07,680 --> 00:41:11,440
do we really have to use a horse

839
00:41:10,560 --> 00:41:13,839
hey

840
00:41:11,440 --> 00:41:16,000
i will stand beside you

841
00:41:13,839 --> 00:41:19,800
he'll kill you too

842
00:41:16,000 --> 00:41:19,800
entonces um

843
00:41:26,000 --> 00:41:30,960
hey wait a minute wait here

844
00:41:28,400 --> 00:41:32,560
there are customs to be observed don't i

845
00:41:30,960 --> 00:41:35,680
get a last meal

846
00:41:32,560 --> 00:41:37,920
no well at least let me say something

847
00:41:35,680 --> 00:41:40,319
the final words of nicodemus legend will

848
00:41:37,920 --> 00:41:42,000
live in infamy

849
00:41:40,319 --> 00:41:44,319
god

850
00:41:42,000 --> 00:41:44,319
thank you

851
00:41:44,800 --> 00:41:49,680
for my final words i'd like to recite

852
00:41:47,920 --> 00:41:51,359
one of my favorite passages from one of

853
00:41:49,680 --> 00:41:53,680
my favorite works

854
00:41:51,359 --> 00:41:56,160
it's the soliloquy from the mad

855
00:41:53,680 --> 00:42:00,560
comanchero it should only take an hour

856
00:41:56,160 --> 00:42:02,400
so that's enough you promised stop

857
00:42:00,560 --> 00:42:04,160
you're hanging the wrong man

858
00:42:02,400 --> 00:42:05,200
this man saw the murder he can identify

859
00:42:04,160 --> 00:42:08,800
the killer

860
00:42:05,200 --> 00:42:08,800
point out the man who killed amos stern

861
00:42:11,359 --> 00:42:14,640
how about it rush

862
00:42:13,119 --> 00:42:17,599
he's lying

863
00:42:14,640 --> 00:42:19,520
why would i kill amos dern

864
00:42:17,599 --> 00:42:22,000
didn't i hear you ranchers were unhappy

865
00:42:19,520 --> 00:42:24,079
that he put up some fences

866
00:42:22,000 --> 00:42:26,560
we had a little range dispute but i

867
00:42:24,079 --> 00:42:27,520
didn't kill him

868
00:42:26,560 --> 00:42:29,760
hey

869
00:42:27,520 --> 00:42:32,160
the mex was there maybe uh

870
00:42:29,760 --> 00:42:33,200
maybe he killed him himself

871
00:42:32,160 --> 00:42:36,000
sheriff

872
00:42:33,200 --> 00:42:38,079
i can provide an answer to this question

873
00:42:36,000 --> 00:42:40,720
allow me to take the fingerprints of mr

874
00:42:38,079 --> 00:42:42,880
rosh and mr alawa and i will compare

875
00:42:40,720 --> 00:42:45,119
them to those on the fulaminator we will

876
00:42:42,880 --> 00:42:47,220
find out who is innocent and perhaps who

877
00:42:45,119 --> 00:42:49,200
is guilty sounds fine to me

878
00:42:47,220 --> 00:42:52,060
[Music]

879
00:42:49,200 --> 00:42:56,520
you got a problem with that rush

880
00:42:52,060 --> 00:42:56,520
[Music]

881
00:43:04,500 --> 00:43:12,800
[Music]

882
00:43:19,440 --> 00:43:30,159
please allow me the honors

883
00:43:22,260 --> 00:43:30,159
[Music]

884
00:43:35,570 --> 00:43:39,219
[Music]

885
00:43:39,839 --> 00:43:42,960
you know it's funny how people's

886
00:43:41,119 --> 00:43:46,400
attitude changes toward you when they

887
00:43:42,960 --> 00:43:49,599
realize you're not a cold-blooded killer

888
00:43:46,400 --> 00:43:51,359
yes and how it changes when they do

889
00:43:49,599 --> 00:43:53,280
yes

890
00:43:51,359 --> 00:43:56,240
would you care to join drusilla dirt and

891
00:43:53,280 --> 00:43:58,240
myself for a celebratory cup

892
00:43:56,240 --> 00:43:59,359
to sell it down

893
00:43:58,240 --> 00:44:01,119
i would think that you would want to

894
00:43:59,359 --> 00:44:04,160
stay well away from her

895
00:44:01,119 --> 00:44:06,880
oh well you know why 12 in the past

896
00:44:04,160 --> 00:44:08,800
she's young and impressionable

897
00:44:06,880 --> 00:44:10,560
i intend to impress her if you know what

898
00:44:08,800 --> 00:44:12,880
i mean

899
00:44:10,560 --> 00:44:15,760
ah gentlemen we were just about to catch

900
00:44:12,880 --> 00:44:16,560

901
00:44:15,760 --> 00:44:18,800

902
00:44:16,560 --> 00:44:20,560

903
00:44:18,800 --> 00:44:21,680
